Terms and disclaimer
Last updated 27 July 2026. Fiska is in beta.
Fiska is a tool, not your accountant. Every figure it shows is an estimate that has not been signed off by a professional. Check before you file or pay.
Fiska is not tax advice
Nothing in this app is tax, accounting, or legal advice, and using it does not put you in a professional relationship with anyone.
Fiska works out figures from the tax rules as we have read them. Reading the law is not the same as being qualified to advise you on it, and your situation may turn on something the app never asked you about.
If a figure matters — if you are about to file it, pay it, or rely on it — check it with a qualified accountant or with the Commissioner for Revenue first.
Every figure here is pending professional review
The rules Fiska applies are drawn from published Maltese law. They have not yet been reviewed and countersigned by a qualified accountant.
That review is under way, and until it is finished you should treat every number this app shows you as provisional — including the ones the app does not mark as provisional. Where a figure is one we already know is disputed, the app shows it marked as pending confirmation. The absence of that mark is not a promise that a figure is correct.
This is stated as plainly as we can put it: the figures are estimates, they have not been signed off, and they can be wrong.
What you are responsible for
Your tax obligations remain yours. Filing on time, paying the right amount, and keeping proper records are your responsibility and not ours, whatever the app shows or fails to show.
That includes deadlines. Fiska may remind you about one, may remind you late, or may not remind you at all. A missed reminder does not move a legal deadline.
Keep your own copies of your records. Do not rely on Fiska as your only record of anything.
This is beta software
You are using an early version, provided so that it can be tested. It can contain errors, it can be unavailable, it can lose information you entered, and it can change or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
We will not pretend otherwise, and you should not plan around it being stable.
What we do not promise
Fiska is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not warrant that any figure it produces is correct.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss you suffer through relying on a figure, a reminder, or anything else this app shows you — including tax, interest or penalties assessed against you. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
Use Fiska for your own business records. Do not use it to break the law, and do not try to reach anyone else's information through it.
Your information
How we handle your information is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Ending it
You can stop using Fiska whenever you like, and you can close your account from inside the app at any time. We can end or suspend access as well, particularly while the app is in beta.
Some records are kept after deletion where tax law requires it. The privacy policy explains which and for how long.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by Maltese law, and the Maltese courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer, this does not take away protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
Changes and contact
We may change these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and we will tell you about anything significant rather than leave you to find it.
